British Mycological Society Publications

Overall administration of publishing activities is the responsibility of Publications Committee under the chairmanship of the Publications Committee Officer, who reports to Council. Current membership of Publications Committee is detailed below.

As of January 2006, Elsevier, the world-leading scientific and medical publisher, will publish the Society's journals Mycological Research, Mycologist and Field Mycology. Extensive web pages are maintained for each of these journals on the Elsevier website. Use any of the hyperlinks on this page to access Elsevier's pages.

As well as journals, the Society publishes symposium volumes, each of which is a collection of comprehensive, timely and truly international reviews of important topics in mycology. Taken together, these volumes form a multidisciplinary library of current work in fungal biology. The four most recent volumes in this irregular series (published on our behalf by Cambridge University Press) are illustrated below. You can click on the cover illustrations or titles to visit the publisher's webpage giving detailed information on each title.

Shattock, D. S. Shaw & Louise Cook, 1991); Applied Molecular Genetics of Fungi (edited by J. F. Peberdy, C. E. Caten, Jill E. Ogden & J. W. Bennett, 1991); and Aspects of Tropical Mycology (edited by Susan Isaac, Juliet C. Frankland, Roy Watling & Anthony J. S. Whalley, 1993).

The Society also publishes many other items, from fine art prints to exquisitely illustrated pocket guides and an extensive range of resources for teaching. Some of these are illustrated in the gallery below (hover the cursor over the image for a brief description).

Many of these items can be bought by mail-order. Download an order form HERE, and don't forget that if you need educational resources for school use you can download (for free!) a tremendous range of materials from our website at www.fungi4schools.org/.
